  • The Quiet Superpower!

    Hi Rise Leader,

Ever noticed how the loudest person in the room isn’t always the one people respect most? Real leaders don’t need to shout, brag, flex, or take the spotlight—they shine by lifting others up.

Humility is that quiet superpower that makes people want to follow you. Be honest. We all focus on ourselves and think we’re the main character. It’s natural! But guess what? Nobody is more valuable than anyone else.

Think about NBA legend Tim Duncan. He is one of the greatest basketball players ever, but he never bragged, never demanded the spotlight. Instead, he encouraged his teammates, admitted mistakes, and celebrated others’ wins. His humility made him not just a champion, but a leader everyone trusted. Players called him legend.

    What Humility Looks Like:

    • 🎯Accurate Self-View – Know your strengths but admit your weaknesses too.
    • 🤝Respect for Others – Value everyone’s voice, even if it’s different from yours.
    • 👂Openness to Feedback – Learn from correction instead of getting defensive.
    • 💡Service Mindset – Help without expecting applause.
    • 🫶Empathy & Listening – Hear people out before rushing to speak.
    • 🌍Leadership Through Influence – Inspire trust, not control.

    Quick Tips to Grow Humility:

    • Say thank you more often.
    • Admit when you’re wrong (and don’t make excuses).
    • Celebrate someone else’s win like it’s your own.
    • Practice listening twice as much as you talk.

Humility isn’t weakness. It’s strength wrapped in kindness. When you lift others, you rise too.

    Your RISE Challenge:

This week, commit to doing one thing that celebrates or helps someone else, even if it doesn’t benefit you or get you noticed.

  • Direction:Are You a Compass or a GPS Thinker?

Ever wish life came with turn-by-turn directions? Like, “In 200m, make a confident decision”? Yeah, same. But real leadership isn’t about following a script—it’s about knowing your values and choosing your path, even when it’s messy.

Quick Question: What Happens When Life Has No Instructions?

Your phone dies. No Google Maps. No directions.
Do you freeze… or do you know where you’re going?

That’s the difference between living by GPS and leading with a compass.

    Compass vs GPS Thinking:

    • 🧭Compass Thinkers ask: “What’s the right direction based on my values?”
    • 📍GPS Thinkers ask: “What’s the next step someone else says I should take?”

Story: In 1955, Rosa Parks didn’t wait for permission or popularity. She refused to give up her seat and stand on the bus because of her race. This sparked the Montgomery bus boycott that lasted one year before the court finally ruled no segregation on buses.

How to Strengthen Your Inner Compass

    • Know what you stand for. (Not just what sounds good.)
    • Think before you follow. (Pause > reflect > decide.)
    • Stop outsourcing every decision. Trust your growth.
    • Check your motives. Is it right—or just popular?
    • Build quiet integrity. Who you are when no one sees you matters.

Your values are your compass. Trust them. They won’t always give you the easiest route, but they’ll always point you toward real leadership.

Your RISE Challenge: Think of one area in your life (school, friendships, online) where you’ve been relying on “GPS thinking.” This week, pause and ask yourself: What would my compass say? Then act on it—even if it’s hard.

  • Choices:The Choice You Make, Makes YOU!

Last week, we talked about how choice is your life’s remote control. This week, let’s look at the incredible impact of those choices—not just on you, but on everyone around you.

John Wooden said, “The choice you make, makes you”. That’s deep! Every choice you’ve ever made, big or small, has built the person you are right now.

    Small Choices, Massive Impact

The awesome news? If you don’t like a result in your life, all you have to do is make a better choice to get a better outcome. It’s a guaranteed path to getting better, because you “don’t get better by chance, you get better by choice”.

And here’s the best part: Making good choices doesn’t just benefit you—it benefits others. When you make a good choice, you add value to yourself, and that value spills over into your relationships, your community, and your world.

To make good choices that affect others, focus on these three things daily:

    1. Value People: See yourself and everyone around you as valuable simply because you are all human.
    2. Make Yourself More Valuable: Invest in yourself (your skills, your health, your knowledge) through good choices. This helps you and helps others.
    3. Do Things That Other People Value: Asking for opinions or showing interest in what others are doing is a great way to show you value them.

The journey to changing the world always starts with changing yourself.

The Rise Challenge: Choose one of the three points above that you feel you need to improve most. Then, take one specific action every day for the next three days to reinforce that choice.

  • Your Life, Your Remote Control

    Hey RISE Leaders!

Today, let’s zoom in on the most powerful tool you already own: The Gift of Choice.

The legendary John C. Maxwell said, “One of the greatest gifts you will ever receive is the gift to make choices”. Think of choice as your life’s remote control. You have the power to select the channel, change the volume, and choose the direction!

Why choice is the ultimate power-up

    • You get Freedom: Choice means you’re not locked into one path.
    • You’re in Control: It puts you in the driver’s seat of your life.
    • You Can Level Up: You have the ability to make your life better and reach your potential.
    • You’re the Director: You can choose to define your circumstances—not let your circumstances define you.

The truth is, the longer you live, the more your life is shaped by the choices you make. But here’s the catch: Choosing not to choose is still a choice!. When you fail to choose, you essentially hand your remote control (your gift of choice) to someone else, and you lose control of your life’s direction.

Your RISE Challenge: Think of one thing you’ve been putting off where you felt like you had “no choice” or were letting someone else decide. Make a choice about it. Remember, very few choices are final and can often be reversed if needed!
